KPOP Music Festival 2011 - 1 MORE DAY TO GO

The biggest KPOP music festival is ONLY 1 DAY AWAY. Tomorrow, 12 of the biggest kpop bands will perform LIVE for Aussie fans at ANZ stadium in Sydney.

The groups performing at this epic concert are TVXQ, SNSD, Shinee, Sistar, Secret, Miss A, MBlaq, Kara, CNBlue, B2st, 4minute & 2am.

All bands have arrived in Sydney for rehearsals. Few lucky fans were invited to watch rehearsals, getting a taste of what to expect on show day. If you are lucky, you may bump in to the bands out and about in Sydney!

Fans from around Australia will be flying to Sydney for to catch their favourite idols perform live. My Melbourne friends will be flying up to Sydney to watch 2am, CNBlue. They will be giving an exclusive concert review to CherriiPOP when they come back. That will be exciting.

The full concert will air in Korea on December 3rd.

Kpop Music Fest 2011 concert countdown – 8 days to go

The biggest kpop concert to hit Australia – Kpop Music Fest is only 8 days away! Who’s going? The event is held exclusively in Sydney and kpop fans from all over Australia will be flying there just to see their favourite idols. I have a few friends in Melbourne who will be flying up for the event, they bought VIP tickets so they are just metres away from the stage.

Let’s remind you of all the kpop bands that will be performing: TVXQ, SNSD, Shinee, Sistar, Secret, Miss A, MBlaq, Kara, CNBlue, B2st, 4Minute, 2am.

There is an exclusive event for some lucky kpop fans. The concert organizers have organized a Rehearsal tour! How cool is that? Fans will be able to watch their idols do sound checks and see the production crew put the show together. I love all the behind the scenes stuff.

KPOP Music Festival hits Sydney this November

Do I have big news for you KPOP FANS! The biggest KPOP concert is heading to Sydney this 12th November. A total of 12 (yes I did say 12!!) kpop bands will be performing in Sydney. There will be a total of 6 boy bands & 6 girl bands!!! It's KPOP heaven!

Let me take a deep breath before I go through the kpop bands performing:

Let’s start with boybands: TVXQ, SHINEE, CNBLUE, MBLAQ, BEST, 2AM

Now the girl bands: 4MINUTE, SNSD, SECRET, MISS A, SISTAR, KARA

Ticket prices range from: $89-289. Tickets go on sale the 1st of September @ Ticketek.

This special event is to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic ties between Australia and Korea.

Reality TV Shows in South Korea

Reality TV Shows: we have no shortage of them. We’ve got heaps of singing competitions on every channel, then there are cooking battles, model searches… We don’t need anymore of these shows but they keep popping up. I have lost interest in these shows!!!! However, in South Korea they have some really novel reality TV shows that I find oddly interesting.

Let’s start with a show called ‘We Got Married’, as the name suggests it’s about newlyweds. Don’t be so quick to judge, the show doesn’t follow ordinary couples that just got hitched. That’ll be too ordinary. They actually follow celebrities, the show is nothing like the US reality show ‘Newlyweds’ starring Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Let me run through the premise of the ‘We Got Married’. They randomly pair up celebrities together (A List Celebs), then they have a mock wedding and begin a pseudo marriage for the cameras that follow them everywhere. Each week they have to complete tasks together like do a photoshoots... Top Korean celebrities have participated in this show for a few months, they can choose to leave the show when they want to. They learn each other habits, have little arguments… It is a warm fuzzy, humorous family show. It’s not wild or vulgar. I’ve watched some episodes about the ‘Lettuce couple’ a cute nickname coined by fans for couple Hwang Bo and Kim Hyun Joong. They made an interesting couple to watch because Hwang Bo is quite outspoken and not girly. Kim Hyun Joong has a blunt sense of humor and his not gallant. They had some really funny moments on camera, like their last night on the show Joong did something out of character and corny just for his wifey. He decided to make a good-bye video. While he was working on his costume through the night he fell asleep, hunched over sitting on the ground. It was very funny. They cried in the last episode because they were so sad that their time together was over. It’s really nice funny show, check it out.

The boy band MBLAQ got their own reality TV show called “Kim Suro’s Prestigious University Class”. This show documented the 5 members trying to get a place at the prestigious Seoul University. To get a place they have to pass the University’s entrance exam. It might be interesting if USA did a version of this show and have wild teen celebrities study like crazy to get in to Harvard or Yale. The show followed the boys studying and studying and more studying. Of course all the fans and viewers want to see the boys succeed after following their journey and watching all of their efforts. When the results came out… all five of them failed their entrance exams. Clearly from the result you can see the show isn’t rigged and I imagine the boys would find the result especially embarrassing when it was aired on national TV. I wonder how their parents reacted? Poor guys. Hope they get better luck next time.

Kpop Stars & Actors Join Twitterverse

Twitterverse is expanding with more and more celebs joining! Everyone is catching twitter fever.



Rain had many 'posers' on twitter, I thought 1 of them was the real Rain and I kept twittering to him how much i love him... LOL... and I got a tweet back saying 'I love you too'. I nearly fell over my chair. Sadly that wasn't the real Rain. This is the official Rain twitter @29rain. He use to tweet a lot, in korean (I wish i could understand) then suddenly he deleted all his tweets. Now he doesn't tweet anything!!! But he has all these followers. I found out why he deleted his tweets, he posted photos on his twitter of him and Jun Ji-hyun and it caused quite a stir in the news and amongst netizens. The thing is everyone thinks they are dating but they both deny it. Interesting... Well, I hope Rain starts tweeting again so he can talk to his fans. I still need to convince him to come to Australia.



Another newbie to twitter is the handsome actor Daniel Henney @danielhenney. It was announced previously on CherriiPOP that Daniel is also starring with Rain in the new TV drama 'Fugitive'. Daniel tweets in english, so lucky for me - I can understand it. It's pretty cool that he interacts a lot with his fans; he tweets about his daily life and posts heaps photos up. His agency also tweets for him as well. Remember to welcome him to twitter!



Songstress Chae Yeon @Chaeyeon_lee is preparing for her big comeback to the music industry. She has been tweeting about the process to her fans, posting photos from dance rehearsal . She tweets a lot - so check it out. Again, she tweets in Korean - I really must learn the language since I follow all these kpop stars. LOLz

MBLAQ releases their application on the iPHONE

The iPAD was released in Australia last friday! A lot of people couldn't wait to get their hands on it so they lined up in the wee hours of the morning to buy it! A lot of celebrities like kpop's SNSD and Lee Hyori have released their own app on the iPHONE, which would probably be available on the iPAD too. MBLAQ has also joined the club, releasing their application after their 'Y' single was released. The size of the app is 52.4mb,you can access their concept photos, sample tracks from their album and watch their full music vids and preview teaser vids. Sounds pretty cool! If you have an iPHONE or an iPAD and you love MBLAQ, check out their new app.
